Mr. Robert Cahill of New York City served on the board of the Saint Benedict Education Foundation and its predecessor, the Pontifical Institute of Liturgy (PIL) foundation for more than fifteen years, and as its chairman for more than ten years.

Mr. Cahill attended a Jesuit secondary school and completed his undergraduate work at Georgetown University before beginning graduate work at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He has served as a managing partner of the Wall Street firm of Conklin, Cahill and Co. and has been involved with non-profit organizations nearly all of his adult life.

Mr. Cahill served on the advisory board of Saint John’s College, Collegeville, Minnesota, which was his first experience with Benedictine hospitality. Keith F. Pecklers, S.J., S.L.D., a professor of Liturgy at Notre Dame University as well as at the Pontifi cal Liturgical Institute of Sant’ Anselmo, recruited Mr. Cahill for the board.

“I have found my involvement with Sant’ Anselmo to be a very exceptional experience. To be able to be there and visit this important Benedictine center with its particular age and charm, was a delight,” he said. He will continue his involvement with a number of non-profit agencies involved with anti-hunger, such as Bread for the World and City Harvest.
