At the request of the Saint Benedict Education Foundation, Abbot Benedict Neenan, OSB of Conception Abbey, was invited to speak at the Cure of Ars Parish in Leawood, KS, a suburb of Kansas City, and introduce the parishioners to the important work of the Saint Benedict Education Foundation (SBEF). Abbot Benedict did a wonderful job of highlighting the many connections between Benedictine monks and nuns and the parish’s past and present members. He also talked about the need for priests and religious worldwide and how Sant’ Anselmo’s curriculum helps to respond to this need. Continuing, Abbot Benedict explained how SBEF provides Scholarship funds to Benedictine monks and nuns studying at Sant’ Anselmo who are unable to afford the tuition and living expenses.

After all the Masses, Abbot Benedict, Br. Thomas Sullivan, OSB, a monk of Conception Abbey, and other SBEF board members were available to discuss the work of the Saint Benedict Education Foundation and answer questions. Members of the Cure of Ars parish were very receptive to the talks, and many went on to make gifts in support of the Foundation’s work, helping SBEF to continue to grow its work and outreach.
