Saint Benedict Education Foundation
The Saint Benedict Education Foundation raises money for scholarships for students who attend the international Benedictine University, Sant’ Anselmo in Rome. The foundation, based in Latrobe Pennsylvania, has held events throughout the United States in support of its goal, and has supporters from Tampa, Florida to Lisle, Illinois to San Francisco. The Foundation aim is to help by assisting with scholarships for students attending Sant’ Anselmo. Funds are directed to students from Benedictine communities that are unable to support the cost of educating their members.
Pontifical Athenaeum of Sant’ Anselmo
The Athenaeum of Saint Anselm was founded by Pope Leo XIII in 1887. It is a Benedictine institute of higher education, operating at the university level with three academic faculties:
The Faculty of Philosophy, offering:
- An institutional biennium
- A biennium of specialization in:
– Philosophy and Mysticism
– Metaphysics
– Anthropology and Art
– History of Philosophy
The Faculty of Theology, offering:
- An institutional triennium (S.T.B.) Specializations in:
– Dogmatic-Sacramental Theology
– Monasticism
– History of Theology
The Pontifical Institute of Liturgy, offering:
- A Propaedeutic Year
- Licentiate
- Doctorate
- Course in Liturgical Architecture and Art
