Sant’Anselmo in Rome is the center of the Benedictine Confederation, where the Benedictine abbots of the world meet every four years for the Confederation congress. Sant’Anselmo is the seat of the Abbot Primate. It is also where the monks sent to Rome teach or study (Collegio Sant’Anselmo) at the Benedictine university (Ateneo Sant’Anselmo). The College and the Athenaeum operate during the academic year, from October to June.
